We are Laura and John Atkins, the sole owners of RaEssence Shea Butter. Our love for Shea Butter began while living in Colorado some years ago. The dry summers and extremely cold winters made our skin extremely dry and flaky. After trying many over-the-counter medicated and prescription lotions, we stumbled upon Shea Butter. It seem to work wonders and made a big difference in how our skin felt. It was soft and very moisturized. Once applied, it lasted all day, no need to keep putting on lotion throughout the day. Even our two (2) sons would ask for “care packages” that included Shea Butter while they were away at college and in the military.
Shea Butter had been a regular part of our skincare regiment for many years. We moved to Virginia in 2001, Laura retired in 2009 from the insurance industry and began several hobbies and volunteering in the community. Shortly afterwards, during Atkins family brainstorming session, we decided to manufacture, package and sell our own whipped shea body butter. Hence, in 2012 the birth of RaEssence Shea Butter. John retired in 2015 from Civil Service, he enjoys fishing, hunting and gardening. Together, we perform all the duties of operating a home based business. We are committed to producing a quality product and always strive to exceed our customer’s expectations.
